CE Workshop for Mental Health Professionals
Therapeutic Presence has been shown to be a potent indicator of success in therapy, yet it is often overlooked in clinical training.
This workshop introduces participants to Reflective Meditation, an innovative meditation process that naturally develops Presence, bringing gentle awareness to our experiences. By honing this reflective process, participants can enhance their ability to be present with themselves and clients, ultimately increasing ethical awareness and resilience.
Becoming more aware of our experience through meditation ultimately highlights several human existential “givens”. In Buddhism, these “givens” are called the Marks of Existence. This workshop provides a deeper understanding of how these three Marks can create more capacity to approach our difficulties, and those of our clients, with greater insight, balance, and ethical intelligence.
Learning Objectives:
Learn and practice Reflective Meditation, a contemplative meditative approach that supports therapeutic Presence and functions as an ethical safeguard
Identify how ethical considerations of professional boundaries intersect with the development of therapeutic Presence
Learn the Three Marks of existence in Buddhist Psychology and a provisional fourth mark.
Adopt an adaptation of ACA Code of ethics as workshop agreements.
Join us in this transformative workshop to unlock the door to therapeutic Presence, ethical insight, and personal/professional growth. Limited spots available for a more personalized learning experience.
Cost: The workshop is offered at three price points: $225, $175, and $125. Honestly consider what you can afford. If you are able to pay on the higher end, this will support others who are experiencing financial challenges.
Please note that we are currently limiting this workshop to 18 participants. This workshop is best taught in small groups as it is interpersonal, requiring intimacy and insight building; it is experiential rather than primarily didactic.
