Workshop Agenda

9:00 – 9:30 am            Registration

9:30 – 9:45 am            Welcome, Introductions, & Overview

9:45 – 10:15 am          Reaccreditation Documentation Basics
How 2026 reaccreditation documentation works - required documentation, narratives vs. examples vs. the Alternative Assessment Option, and how to read what a measure is actually asking for

10:15 – 11:00 am         PHAB’s Narrative Writing for Reaccreditation Training
PHAB's Education Services team (Joy Harris and Amanda Marino) on how to write a narrative that clearly demonstrates a measure

11:00 – 11:30 am         Spotting the Gaps: Diagnosing a Weak Narrative
Work through a real sample (or 2) to pinpoint where a narrative falls short of the requirements - and why one that reads well can still miss.

11:30 am – 12:45 pm   Lunch on your own

12:45 – 1:30 pm           Documentation Insights from Ohio Site Visitors
A candid conversation on what separates a strong narrative from a weak one, how they read documentation forms, and the examples that stick with them

1:30 – 2:00 pm            What 'Strong' Looks Like: Anatomy of a Narrative
Examine strong samples to see exactly how they demonstrate each required element - the moves you can reuse in your own writing

2:00 – 3:10 pm            Workshop Your Own Narrative
Put the day to work on your own draft. You’ll start with structured peer review - exchange a printed narrative with another attendee and trade focused feedback - while PHAB site visitors circulate to give expert input, then open into one-on-one technical assistance. No draft yet? Sample narratives are provided so everyone can take part.

3:10 – 3:20 pm              Introduction to the Accreditation Resource Library
A shared, searchable bank of real Ohio documentation. Help it grow by uploading your accreditation or reaccreditation documents - especially anything rated Fully or Largely Demonstrated - so everyone has models to learn from. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ALDocUpload

3:20 – 3:30 pm              Recap, Next Steps & Evaluation
Key takeaways, the one documentation step you'll take next, and a quick evaluation

Special Thanks to our PHAB Site Visitors and Workshop Facilitators:
Pamela Bauer, Laura Bogard, Wally Burden, Laurie Dietsch, Tim Kelley, Kelli Kincaid, Belinda Leslie, Janelle McManis, Jason Menchhofer, Beth Ransopher, Steve Ruckman, Josh Sexton
