FlyBy Week activities in 2020 with COVID-19

Riding activities are unaffected- Every day is a riding day, but there are no large organized group rides at FlyBy Week. You can choose one of the official routes, create your own, go sightseeing or whatever strikes your fancy. Ride solo, with friends in small groups or sign up with one of the open groups if you are looking for someone to ride with.

Social distancing represents our greatest challenge. Fortunately, our trademark "Outdoor Lounge" with lots of chairs and flexible spacious outdoor seating will enable attendees to socialize while maintaining social distancing. We will have plenty of hand sanitizer and wipes available.

Face Masks- All attendees will be required to bring masks. I cannot require everyone to wear them, and some will think it's unnecessary. Personally, I am in the highest risk group, as are other older members. Out of consideration for them, I ask attendees to follow distancing rules in effect for Ohio at the time of the rally.

The Monday-Thursday "Dinner Tours" are cancelled for this year. We will not be able to provide a bus or van to transport groups downtown for dinner, but most of the nice restaurants in town are currently open. Attendees can still arrange their own transportation or make informal group arrangements for whatever they are comfortable with.

No Official Group Dining Friday and Saturday evening- Due to Ohio and CDC guidelines, we will NOT be able to have the traditional Friday burger burn or the group buffet on Saturday night. The Outdoor Lounge will still have pop-ups and tables with more spread out seating for those who carry in their own food.

We will provide a comprehensive list of dining options including take-out and delivery services. For example, Wings Etc, a grill & pub down the street from the hotel, has a huge menu. Order by phone or online and they will deliver to the hotel for $3 per order.

Saturday is the biggest riding day, so even if you only came for the weekend, you'll have a great day of riding with lots of fun folks. This year the 8PM closing ceremony we will have door prizes from
Iron Pony Motorsports of Columbus, OH.and
Lemon & Barret's Motorsports of Parkersburg, WV.

We will also hold the drawing for the 2019 Suzuki V-Strom 650XT Touring MSTA 2020 raffle bike. Purchase tickets online at www.planetreg.com/MSTARAFFLE2020 Through July 31. Tickets will be available for cash sale at FlyBy Week. You must be a paid-up full MSTA member to be eligible to win.
We plan to broadcast the drawing live on Facebook (and possibly YouTube) so that everyone around the country can be a part of it.

Official Routes
This will be the best year ever for FlyBy Week routes- we have 25 to choose from, including five Adventure routes in both Ohio and West Virginia. All routes have been completely redone to include gas stops every 75-100 miles, with a good lunch stop located at 50-70% distance.
Each route is available in two distinct versions- one for older and non-Garmin GPS models and the other for newer BMW and Garmin models that use the Trip Planner App. These routes are easier to use and more reliable than ever before.

Other Info
No Event T-Shirts
- To simplify and reduce contact risk, T-Shirt sales are cancelled for this year. Those who ordered them will get a refund.

Free Therapeutic Massage- Anne Marie LaFrance, is a Licensed Massage Therapist and owner of LaFrance Wellness in Morganton, NC. She was at FlyBy Week in 2019 and is returning for 2020. Her specialty is orthopedic massage and people come from all over the country for her services. Click here for more info: http://flybyweek.com/massage.html

Bike Wash- Water hoses and towels will be available at the end of the hotel near the outdoor lounge. MSTA member and detailing expert Jeremy Riffle, owner of Vehicle Enhancements, Inc. of Dayton, Oh, will be on hand with tools and detailing supplies to answer your questions about cleaning and finish protection for your bike.

ALL MONEY RAISED WILL BE DONATED TO THE DAN CLARK FUND
