CE Workshop for Mental Health Professionals
Presence has been shown to be a potent indicator of success in therapy, yet most of us weren't taught how to deliberately develop this capacity in our therapy practices. Reflective meditation naturally develops presence, moving us gently toward the flow of our own experience in all its complexity, richness, and unpredictability.
Becoming more aware of our experience through meditation ultimately highlights several human existential “givens”. In Buddhism, these "givens" are called the Marks of Existence. A deeper understanding of these three Marks can create more capacity to approach our difficulties, and those or our clients, with greater insight and balance. This in turn further grows our ability to be present.
