A Guided Hiking Tour

Today it's home to ski trails, archery ranges, and soccer fields, but Kincaid Park once housed barbed wire fences, nuclear missiles, and fierce guard dogs.

In partnership with the Municipality of Anchorage, the Friends of Nike Site Summit are pleased to offer a hiking tour of the Cold War structures of Kincaid Park, formerly the Point Campbell Military Reservation/Nike Site Point. Veterans who served at Site Point during the Cold War will be on hand to discuss their personal experiences at the site. Participants will enter two historic structures associated with the missile site and view the remnants of several more.

This strenuous tour will cover about 2.75 miles on dirt and paved trails over hilly terrain, with numerous ups and downs. Brief sections of the tour will cross open, uneven terrain. Participants should plan on spending up to three hours on this tour and come with water, snacks and attire for all weather possibilities.  Due to potential liability, we ask that you please leave your pets at home.

Registration is a non-tax-deductible donation to FONSS. Total registration is limited to 25 participants aged 10 and older only (no babies in carriers) and will close once that limit has been reached.

Registrations must be completed by credit card on-line. If you prefer to register and then mail a check, please contact Friends of Nike Site Summit (FONSS) by email at site.summit.tours@gmail.com or by telephone at 907-717-0117 (leave message). Checks must be received by 5/21/25. Same day registration is available only to potential participants who have contacted FONSS in advance to ensure space is available; same-day on-site registration is available on a cash-only basis.
