Event Description

Community Members & Student Volunteers are welcome to participate in a hands-on environmental service project at Las Palmas Nature Trail. A brief orientation will be provided before we begin. We will review the work areas, safety information, and the day's activities. Volunteers will be divided into groups to help restore access to the trail. This effort supports the continued use and preservation of one of Laredo's birdiest corridors and an area recognized as Laredo's first bird sanctuary.

Event Goals

• Promote environmental stewardship and civic responsibility
• Improve the cleanliness and access of Las Palmas Nature Trail
• Engage community members in a meaningful community service experience

What Participants Should Bring

• Closed-toe shoes suitable for walking
• Comfortable outdoor clothing
• Reusable water bottle
• Hat  (highly recommended)

Materials Provided 

• Gloves
• Trash bags and cleanup supplies
• Rakes
