Event Details

This presentation will look at data required to run the Inventory Control system correctly. Scrap is not always your fault – stuff happens – report it and improve it. There will be a short lecture followed by a simulation - While producing Jelly Bean Bar Bells, groups reported materials used and scrapped (or eaten!)
Presenter Bio:
Carla Parvin, CFPIM, CSCP, Founder & CEO of ThinkLink360, LLC is a well-known APICS Instructor, Speaker and Workshop Facilitator. She worked previously for Thermo Fisher Scientific as an Inventory Analyst and Sourcing Specialist. Prior to that, she worked with several major firms throughout the Southeast in Supply Chain Management roles.

With more than 25 years of experience, Ms. Parvin has worked in purchasing, systems implementation, training, materials management and project management at industry leading companies such as Thermo Fisher Scientific, Aramark, Riverwood International and JD Edwards.

Among other accomplishments, she has been the project manager for the implementation of a web based B2B order tracking system and managed the implementation of ERP systems at two companies. Ms. Parvin has also implemented VMI and Supplier Kanban for high volume and MRO inventory items and designed and taught Lean Manufacturing classes and workshops.

Ms. Parvin joined APICS in 1991. She earned the APICS CPIM certification in 1993, CFPIM in 1998 and CSCP in 2013. She has taught APICS CPIM, Train the Trainer and Learning Dynamics for Instructors classes since 1992 and has presented at the APICS International Conference and Professional Development Meetings for ISM, APICS and ASTD Chapters in GA, NC and FL. She is an APICS Master Level instructor for Train the Trainer and Learning Dynamics for Instructors and also an APICS Lead Instructor for CPIM. She has held a variety of positions (President, VP of Education and Secretary) on the boards of several APICS Chapters in the southeast.

Ms. Parvin received her bachelor’s degree in Education from Christopher Newport University and is certified in Instructional Design and Technology by the University of Georgia. She is a Six Sigma Green Belt and alumni of the Georgia Tech Institute for Project Management.
