Progress + Challenges + Opportunities
Charting the Course for Policy and Practice

9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Loyola University Chicago
25 East Pearson, Chicago Illinois
Probation and parole issues have been “largely absent from the national conversation surrounding incarceration rates and criminal justice reform — this despite the fact that community corrections presents the most obvious alternative to incarceration for many and perhaps the best opportunity for reforming the criminal justice system in ways that will promote public safety, efficiency and fairness.”
New Thinking in Community Corrections
(National Institute of Justice / Harvard Kennedy School – December 2016)

Join Loyola University’s
Center for Criminal Justice Research, Policy and Practice
to examine the use of probation in Illinois and explore current research and analysis of effective policy and practice.  Conference participants will share insights gleaned from data analysis, research and the perspectives of criminal justice practitioners and stakeholders, with the goal of articulating priorities for policy and practice reforms which can improve outcomes for justice-involved people and our communities.
