Registration Information

Please select the appropriate registration types below.

There is not a separate registration category or fee for "Guests", nor do you even have to be a member of MSTA to participate. All attendees/participants (Members, Members of Household, and non-members) must complete the same registration form and pay the same registration fee. The only exception to this is Life, Senior Life, and Sustaining members and their spouses, who receive a 10% discount on their registration fee.

Once again this year, purchase of a lunch ride ticket ($20) is being offered as an additional option. More details on the lunch ride are provided below. As always, your registration still includes your meal at the closing banquet on Wednesday night.

NOTE: Vouchers that have been received as a result of joining or renewing your membership are ONLY good for MSTA regional events, as stated on the face of the voucher. They can NOT be used for STAR registration.

You can register more than one person at a time (Member, Member of Household, or Non-Member). If your companion is not a member of MSTA, be sure to answer "No" to the question about MSTA membership on their registration. Remember, MSTA membership is NOT required to attend STAR!

Instructions regarding how to actually book your room and get the MSTA rate will be provided in your confirmation email. The YO Ranch room rates are as follows and are good for the nights of October 17 - 24. Please note that these rates do NOT include breakfast:

Two Queen Bed Suite: $159

If you do not know your MSTA member number (requested on the next page), we will look it up and add it your registration.

If you are a member, we will be checking the MSTA membership database to verify your membership type.

As mentioned above, the registration types are the same as our last event (STAR 2023 in Knoxville, TN). Anyone (member of the MSTA, spouse, significant other, non-member, whatever) may attend STAR. Member of Household is the same as a Member, so there is not a distinction with regard to STAR registration. If the main registrant is a Life, Senior Life, or Sustaining Member, the Member of that Household is also considered a Life, Senior Life, or Sustaining member.

Dates to Remember!

Please note these important cut-off dates for STAR 2024:

July 31, 2024 - Last day to take advantage of "early bird" registration. After that this discount will no longer apply.

August 31, 2024 - Postmark deadline for raffle tickets ordered via mail.
September 18, 2024 (noon) - Deadline for making your MSTA reservations at the YO Ranch Hotel in Kerrville. After that date, reservations will be accepted on a space and rate available basis only.
September 30, 2024 - Last day for online registrations & raffle ticket purchases. After that you will only be able to register & purchase raffle tickets onsite at STAR.
October 12, 2024 - Last day to cancel STAR registrations and get a refund (minus any raffle tickets purchased).

Volunteers Needed!

Our club would not function (or even exist!) without the help of volunteers. Once again this year a free account with Signup.com has been set up to help organize this effort for STAR 2024. If you're interested in volunteering during the rally (registration, door prize room, welcoming riders, bike wash, etc.), just click on the following link (you don't have to set up your own account):

Lunch Ride

As mentioned above, your registration fee does NOT include a lunch ride ticket. If you want to participate in this event, you will need to purchase a $20 lunch ride ticket for each person. You can do this either as part of your online registration or onsite at STAR when you check in. This year's lunch ride will be on Tuesday the 22nd, with the location being the Frio Canyon Motorcycle Shop/Bent Rim Grill, which is about 70 miles from the hotel if you take a more or less "direct" route. However, since it's located on Ranch Rd. 337, which is one of the roads in the area known as the "3 Twisted Sisters", you may want to travel there using a more circuitous route (more info on available routes will be supplied at a later date). At the Grill, participants will be served a BBQ sandwich (pulled pork, brisket, or a black bean burger) with chips, baked beans, cookie, and a drink from 11 AM to 1:30 PM.

Closing Banquet

The closing banquet will be on Wednesday night the 23rd and, as indicated above, the meal (Mexican buffet) is included in your registration.

For those with special dietary preferences, we will be working with the hotel to offer vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options for the banquet. This choice can be made as part of your registration, and we encourage you to do so if you have such a need. If you wait until the time of the banquet to request a special meal, we will do what we can, but we cannot guarantee the hotel will be able to accommodate your request at the last minute.

Door Prizes

We are hoping to have many door prizes available for the drawing at the banquet, but the specifics on those have yet to be finalized. You do not have to be a MSTA member to win a door prize, but you must be present at the banquet.

Raffle Tickets

The 2024 MSTA raffle drawing will be held at the closing banquet as well, and this year we're going to include TWO separate drawings, each with its own tickets and raffle prize.

A motorcycle lift that has been generously donated by MSTA members Sue & Steve Nemish of NoMar Tire Changer fame.

If you're interested in both prizes you'll need to purchase tickets for both. Bike raffle tickets will be available online for $8 each through Sep. 30, after which they will only be available at STAR for $10. Tickets for the NoMar lift will be $4 through 9/30 and then only available at STAR for $5.

As always, to be eligible to win one of the raffle prizes you must be a member in good standing of MSTA, but you do NOT have to be present at STAR.

Raffle tickets for both prizes may be purchased in the "Additional Items" section on the next page (along with lunch tickets, hats, T-shirts, etc.) for $8 per ticket (for the bike) and/or $4 per ticket (for the lift) if you want to use this option rather than having to go to a separate web page.

NOTE: All raffle ticket purchases are non-refundable, regardless of how, when, or where they're purchased. So even if you cancel your STAR registration early enough to receive a refund (by October 12!), your refund will include all registration fees and additional items you bought MINUS any raffle ticket purchases.

Raffle winners are responsible for all applicable local, state, and federal taxes and fees. The bike will be on display at STAR, and it is the winner's responsibility to make arrangements for getting it home. As for the lift, however, NoMar's donation includes shipping it to the winner.

IN CONSIDERATION OF AND PARTIAL PAYMENT FOR MY ACCEPTANCE AS AN EVENT PARTICIPANT, I, FOR MY HEIRS, EXECUTORS, ADMINISTRATORS, AND ASSIGNS, RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE MSTA, ITS OFFICERS AND AGENTS, ACTING IN SUCH CAPACITY, FOR ANY INJURY OR LOSS TO MY PERSON OR PROPERTY WHICH MY RESULT THEREFROM. i CERTIFY AND COVENANT THAT WHILE PARTICIPATING IN MSTA EVENTS I WILL HAVE MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE ON MY VEHICLE(S) THAT COMPLIES WITH THE STATE'S FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY LAWS FOR MAINTAINING LIABILITY, UNINSURED AND UNDERINSURED MOTORIST INSURANCE COVERAGE.
