Hello Parents, Students, and Chaperones! 

Please Registar you or your child to the best of your ability for the Lake Casa Blanca Community Cleanup. Texas Parks & Wildlife Department requires us the Rio Grande International Study Center ( RGISC) to gather demographic information about you and your child. All of the information gathered will remain confidential.

Event Description

Students from Laredo-area schools are welcome to participate in a hands-on environmental service project at Lake Casa Blanca. The cleanup event begins with an interactive educational session on the 7 Leave No Trace principles, followed by a guided cleanup along park trails and the lake shoreline. Participants will work together to collect and properly dispose of at least 50 pounds of litter, helping protect local natural resources while learning responsible outdoor practices.

Event Goals
  • Educate students on the 7 Leave No Trace principles
  • Promote environmental stewardship and civic responsibility
  • Improve the cleanliness and health of Lake Casa Blanca
  • Engage students in a meaningful community service experience

Eligibility
  • Students from ALL grade levels are welcome
  • Must have guardian permission if under 18
Activities / Agenda
  • Welcome and safety briefing
  • Educational session: 7 Leave No Trace principles
  • Trail and lakeshore litter cleanup
  • Proper waste disposal
Expected Impact
  • Removal of 50+ pounds of litter from trails and lake shoreline
  • Increased student knowledge of environmental conservation

What Participants Should Bring
  • Closed-toe shoes suitable for walking
  • Comfortable outdoor clothing
  • Reusable water bottle
  • Hat and sunscreen (recommended)

  • Trash bags and cleanup supplies
  • Educational materials on Leave No Trace
Safety Information
  • Adult supervision provided at all times
  • First aid supplies available on-site
  • Students will be assigned to supervised groups
