Welcome to Registration for the 48th Annual Meeting of the
Society for Descriptive Psychology

September 3rd to September 6th,
Reykjavik University, Reykjavik, Iceland

Hybrid Meeting, both in-person and online via Zoom

(Note: To register, scroll to the bottom of the page, make your choices, and then click the "Continue" button).

This year we are excited to present the 2026 Annual Conference for the Society for Descriptive Psychology in Reykjavik, Iceland. This is our first from an attendance site located outside of the United States. We continue to conduct the presentations online via Zoom as well as in-person. We look forward to sharing our presentations with any interested academician, clinician or student, whether a familiar face from previous meetings or someone who is only now discovering Descriptive Psychology (DP).

The Conference planning committee endeavored to follow the historically established scheduling of presentations and events as closely as possible. However, given the considerable differences in time zones between Reykjavik, Iceland, and our typical participants in North America, some rearranging of the usual scheduling, with associated inconveniences, was unavoidable.

Unfortunately, we simply will not have the technical capacity to provide for viewing workshops on demand after their live broadcast. This is expecially important for anyone obtaining CE's because the administrative procedures require your live participation at the time of the presentations. We will provide detailed information about these practices prior to the start of the Conference.

The Program provides details about presentation topics and times, as per Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION

The deadline for Conference registration is end of day (GMT), September 2, 2026. (Please Note: as described below, the deadline to register and give your meal preferences for the self-pay Conference Dinner is earlier, August 24, 2026, so if you plan to attend the Conference, you must register for both the Conference and the Banquet by the earlier date).

As usual, register for the entire event, attend as few or as many of the presentations as is permitted by your schedule, beginning with the Thursday evening Presidential Address.

This year, there will NOT be a registration fee for Society Members participating either in-person or by Zoom . Participation is open to Society members and non-members alike.
However, you must register in order to be provided Zoom access. Furthermore, Society members attending in-person must register to ensure venue seating, interact with other participants, join member events, and complete a conference evaluation.

There is a fee to defray the costs of providing the APA CE's sponsored by the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology. For non-members or those newly joining the Society, there is a $100.00 fee. However,
for existing members in good standing with the Society (i.e. dues paid, not newly applying) for 2026, there is no CE fee.   It is our understanding that professionals in Iceland and Europe do not have reason to seek these CE's.

Conference rates are as follows:

                       Non-member of the Society: $100
                       Paid 2026, Society member: $    0

At the bottom of this page, choose the registration and CE fee that pertains to you.

If you plan to attend in-person, on the next registration page ("Questions") you will be asked to indicate banquet preferences.

CONTINUING EDUCATION DETAILS

Our application for Continuing Education has been approved by the University of Denver (DU), the APA CE sponsoring organization. For those attending the conference, whether in-person or by Zoom, 12.5 CE will be offered, for those who request them.

CONFERENCE DINNER

A conference dinner is being planned by the Society on Saturday evening, September 4, at the Heim - Nauthóll  restaurant, which is near the conference venue. This will be a self-pay event with the banquet fee collected at the door. There will be no advance payment made with registration, but in-person attendees will be asked upon registration whether they will be at the banquet, and if so, their preference of lamb, fish, or a vegetarian dish. After registration, further details will be sent via email to in-person attendees.

If you wish to attend the banquet dinner, you must register for it using one of the registration choices at the bottom of the page that pertains to you (i.e., register by clicking on one of the options that includes the banquet).

Please note: Because of constraints imposed on us by our restaurant, the deadline for any of the banquet dinner registration options is, August 24, 2026 (a bit earlier than for the conference). If you are registering for the conference after that date, you will not be offered the option of registering for the banquet dinner.

PAYMENTS

All payments are made through the Society's PayPal account, to which you will be directed by a link during the registration sequence. You do not need a PayPal account to register. PayPal will allow you to use a credit card.

If you are new to DP or our Society, we welcome you and look forward to productive interactions during and after the Conference.

If you encounter any difficulties with registration, or have other questions about the conference format or operation, you can contact any of the following conference committee members. Please cut and paste the following email addresses into your email program of choice:   Ian Newby-Clark at inewby@uofguelph.ca, Martin Smedlund at martinsmedlund@gmail.com, or Tricia Kennedy at triciamariekennedy@gmail.com.
