Thursday Aug 22

Amateur freestyle comp, Mens and Womens judged competition. Final 4 from each will compete in the final during the open freestyle day on Saturday. Winners will recieve amateur purse equal to the amount recieved by registration (50% for 1st, 25% for 2nd, 15% for 3rd, 10% for 4th)
  • On site Registration open at 9 AM-10:30 AM,
  • Skippers meeting at 11:00

Friday Aug 23

6th Annual Canadian Freestyle Championships.
  • On site Registration open at 9 AM-10:30 AM,
  • Skippers meeting at 11:00
  • Event start aproximately 11:30 AM (may vary with wind conditions).
  • Categories include Mens, Womens, Junior men, junior women (under 18).
  • Minimum Purse $2500.00
Twin Tip Slalom Cross (Preliminary Eliminations).
  • On site Registration open at 9 AM-10:30 AM,
  • Event start aproximately 3 PM (may vary with wind conditions).
  • Categories include Open Mens, Open Womens.
  • Minimum purse $1500.00
Saturday Aug 24

Open Freestyle.
  • On site Registration open at 9 AM-10:30 AM, 
  • Event start aproximately 11:30 AM (may vary with wind conditions).
  • Pros and amateurs will be run together during the semi final/ final rounds and scored indipendently. 
  • Minimum Pro purse $4500.00
Sunday Aug 25

Big Airstyle Comp
  • On site registration open from 9 AM-10:30 AM, 
  • Event start aproximately 11:30 AM (may vary with wind conditions).
  • Categories include Mens, Womens, Juniors (under 18), masters
  • Minimum Purse $1500.00 plus bonuses
TwinTip Slalom Cross Finals.
  • Event start aproximately 3 PM (may vary with wind conditions).
  • Categories include Open Mens, Open Womens.
  • Minimum purse $1500

Wind/Weather Window:
If wind/weather is not cooperating, we will use the alternate day to re-schedule/ change/ cancel events.

Note that KiteClash will be providing FREE shuttles from Backcountry Brewing to the spit.. Shuttles will run frequently throughout the event and should help to aleviate congestoin on our busy Spit road. Please use this service if at all possible. 

Complaints Policy:
Note that all events are judged by a panel of 3-4 judges. KiteClash will follow International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) rules. All efforts will be made to provide fair and unbiased judging. Any complaints or discrepancies are to be brought forward to the event organizer (Steve Tulk) within one hour of score postings. Once medals have been awarded (at end of each day) there will be no considerations made for score changes that affect standings.

Rules, Ethics & Expectations:
KiteClash is held at the Squamish Spit. We are privaledged to have access to this world class kite spot and we are committed to respecting all site rules as per the Squamish Wind Sport Society (SWSS). Please follow all parking rules and consider using the KiteClash shuttle service which will operate from 10-6 daily August 22- 25 from Backcountry Brewing. Please read and understand all the Spit rules and follow all the posted signs regading gear storage, kite rigging, launch/land zones etc. The spit will be open to the public for the three days of KiteClash.
