John is a 2004 graduate of CSU, Fresno, graduating summa cum laude with a business degree emphasizing financial planning. He was involved in the school’s Honors Program, where he wrote a thesis on social security privatization, which examined its sustainability and the viability of a privatized alternative. John has served on the Craig School of Business Alumni board and is a Past President. He is also very involved in his local chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), where he has served in many capacities, including President. He has served on the NAIFA California board as a trustee and currently serves as President. John was a co-founder of The Professional Connection, a networking group aimed at connecting business professionals throughout the San Joaquin Valley. He is a current board member of the Business Associates at the Craig School of Business at Fresno State and is a member of the Fresno Estate Planning Council. John is the CEO and President of Nilmeier Financial and Insurance Services, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP) practitioner, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and holds Series 7, 24, 66 and insurance licenses. He is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative with United Planners. John resides in Fresno with his wife Tracy and son JP and enjoys playing soccer, backpacking, fishing and working on his 1971 Chevelle.
Amy Boyd, CPA, RPA
Amy is a co-founder of the 5500Tax Group, Inc. a team of experienced professionals specializing in employee benefit tax services. Prior to co-founding the 5500Tax Group, Amy was a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young’s (EY) Human Capital Practice and served as the Practice Leader for EY’s National Employee Benefit Compliance practice. Ms. Boyd has 30 years public accounting experience, 25 years specializing in employee benefits.
Amy holds certified public accountant licenses in California and Texas and is currently pursuing the designation of Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS).
