Virtual 1-Hour POPARD Family School Liaison Workshop
Thursday April 8, 2021 12:00pm-1:00pm

Interactive Session: Girls on the Autism Spectrum

*Before you register for this Interactive Session, please make sure you are a parent or caregiver who has already registered for the April 6th Information Session for this topic. Attendance at the Information Session is mandatory to attend this Interactive Session. Return to POPARD's website to register for the related Information Session.

Research is showing that the incidence of girls with autism is higher than previously thought. The expression of autism may be somewhat different in girls than it is in boys.

This interactive session is an extension of the workshop offered on Tuesday April 6th. There are a limited number of spaces for parents and caregivers only who joined the previous session. We encourage everyone to actively participate and draw upon their own knowledge and experience to discuss and learn together.
  • Please bring some examples of the challenges and successes you or your child have faced as a female on the spectrum
  • Please share any resources you have found helpful
Parents/caregivers should be prepared to discuss their experiences and any further questions they have on this topic in a safe, inclusive, small group setting.

This FREE 1-hour virtual workshop will include:
  • 45 minutes interactive session
  • 15 minutes summary & feedback
Presenters: Carlye McCloy-Brown & Chelsea Jelic
Please e-mail the Family School Liaison Team directly if you have any questions: fsl@autismoutreach.ca

Audience: Parents/caregivers who have registered for, and will attend, the related Information Session on this topic.
