Supporting Autistic Children & Youth with Grief 
Virtual 1-hour POPARD Family School Liaison Workshop
April 13, 2023 (12-1pm)

Grief is a universal experience; however, it comes at different points of life for individuals. Supporting autistic children and youth who are dealing with the death of a loved one or a pet, a family members serious illness or other losses is imperative. Grief can impact things such as school performance, learning, behavior, and peer relationships. This workshop will provide:
  • The stages of grief (Kubler-Ross Model) and discuss how the stages are not necessarily linear.
  • Explore the many ways that grief can be expressed.
  • Considerations for supporting the needs of grieving autistic children and youth.
  • Resources and supports for families and children dealing with grief. 
About this Workshop:
  • Presented via Zoom (the Zoom link will be in your confirmation email - if you don't see a confirmation email, check your junk/spam folder)
  • Audience: This training is primarily intended for parents and families of students who are on the Autism spectrum, however educators and other professionals may attend
  • This FREE 1-hour workshop will include 45 minutes of content and 15 minutes of Q&A
