Registration Information

Please fill in the following to register for the 2020 Northwest Colonial Encampment.

This year's scheduled Northwest Colonial Festival weekend will proceed as living history encampment and military drill weekend. This years encampment will require membership in unit/group with accepted insurance or under the Society paid at time of registration. Under 18 are covered by the event, no cost.
The lavender farm and gift shop will be open during the normal business hours of 10 AM to 6 PM. During these hours farm visitors will be able to visit the encampment to watch its living history. Necessary precautions should be taken for the health and safety of yourself and others. Masks are recommended for entry into the farm store and any other enclosed spaces. Don't miss this exciting opportunity to enjoy this year's colonial encampment!

Camps will be laid out in colonial militia and British fashion with proper distance between tents as before, but individuals will be expected to evaluate their own situation and participate with proper safety precautions during event.

Reminder: No cost for under 18 participants but 18 and over will require registration with proof of insurance or fee unless already registered with reenactor or similar. Note membership in NCRA or Spirit of 76 LHA qualify, contact Ryan (Event Director) in contact below if you have other or have questions.

All attendees are expected to provide for themselves or partner with another unit to provide food and other requirements.

Sanicans and water are still onsite and will be provided by the Colonial Society.
Note following:
  1. To enable the event to be educational to all, we encourage all participants to consider their colonial impression and develop content as appropriate.
  2. Black powder firing is planned but the landowners require we identify the specific individuals planning to shoot so proper insurance is provided. The registration process will ask if you plan to fire black powder so please answer appropriately

Event Details

Reenactor Setup Details

SETUP: Reenactor Camp Setup is available to start 8 am 11 August (Wed). no problem if you can't attend every day, setup can be accommodated daily but please register when you plan to attend and/or contact our event director. (Ryan Wetterlund 864-238-3644) who will help gude you on how and when to setup.

VEHICLES: Due to the private event changes, vehicle restrictions are less an issue but we ask you respect the other reenactors and limit modern vehicle usage in camp until after hours. A Reenactors parking area (South of the Colonial Village) will be available for reenactor's vehicle(s).

PERIOD GUIDELINES: This is an 18th Century Encampment with the timeline of the American Revolutionary war. All efforts should be made to represent this specific period with clothing, tenting and accouterments. Displays and camps in the Colonial Village are open to interpretations of the general Colonial/Rev War when exhibiting/demonstrating colonial life of the 18th century. The battle demonstrations/drill will be only performed by previously identified individuals. (please register as one if you wish to participate)

CAMP SITES: Please list your camp area/needs (i.e. Marquis, Military Wedge, Fly, etc.)  in the registration process. Camp areas will be available for British Military & Colonial Village Camp. Seasonal Fire Restrictions may be in effect so anticipate fires must be in period braziers or enclosed fire grates. Allowances may be made for cooking firepit subject to change anytime by the Fire Marshall. A burn ban is usually in effect in the county in August. Please check in with Roger Gary (Town Mayor) when arriving for layout and placement for your tent

FOOD: No food will be provided by the event coordinators or the Colonial Event staff. Individuals are expected to provide for themselves or partner with someone who is preparing food.

MILITARY: MIlitary drill is as needed but British and Colonial military drill is expected as part of the overall experience to help maintain our skills, TBD on specific times and locations.

CIVILIAN: Civilian education and participation is also planned.

FACILITIES: Porta potties will be provided for all reenactors.

DRINKING WATER: Yes, water at edge of camps is still provided.

Pets: Please no pets in period camp.

The goal of this event is training and drill with emphasis on fun for reenactors to hone their ability to portray this time period.
