Online registration is open April 24th through June 1, 2022. Limited in person registration will be available at the event. Meal tickets not included.
The Registrar for online registration is Tracy Mitchell, volunteer & WOS member. If you run into issues during the registration process or need to make changes, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. For urgent issues, you may call 206-356-9180. Due to high volume on the first morning of registration, you may need to leave a voicemail message and issues will be addressed in the order received.
Our intent is to make the conference for vaccinated folks ONLY. Upon check-in in Spokane Valley, we will ask for proof of COVID-19 vaccination. We also ask participants to follow current CDC prevention recommendations: stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines, wear a mask indoors, and get tested if you have symptoms. WOS also has COVID guidelines for the conference posted on the WOS Conference Field Trip web page.
When registering for the conference, you should know that the Tru by Hilton hotel and CenterPlace Event Center are public spaces and there is no way for us to guarantee that every person walking through public space is vaccinated. We are asking the caterer and facility staff to be vaccinated.
To help make registration a smooth experience for everyone (and minimize trips filling up while you are registering), you may only register for up to 2 people at a time. Choose the registrant type that applies:
WOS members or those that want to become members will register as “Conference Attendee – WOS member”. Note: You will be able to renew your membership during the registration process if desired.
Field trip leaders, keynote speakers and awardees should register as a “Field Trip Leader/Co-Leader” (thus waiving your registration fee). Trip leaders, please do not sign up for your own trips, as we have already factored you into the capacity limits.
Non-members and guests may attend the entire conference by selecting “Non-member attendee”.
Details on all field trips including trip ID numbers, driving distance, hiking required, etc. are available on the WOS website conference field trips page. The trips are listed by day with full day trips first, followed by half day trips. Owling trips will be listed separately at the end.
Troubleshooting tips: Unfortunately trips may fill up during the registration process. This happens to a small number of people every year. If your first choice(s) fill up during the registration process, then you will get the following message when you try to complete registration: "Due to low inventory levels, there now is insufficient inventory to complete your request for the indicated items. Further action on the indicated fields is required before completing this request."
If this happens, click the “Edit” button, and it will take you back to your registration to make another selection (go to the field that says Inventory Deficiency Here). IMPORTANT: If you exit or use the back arrow instead, you will need to start your registration from the beginning.
Meals: Friday light dinner and Saturday evening banquet meal tickets are available ONLY in advance (unti June 1st). You will choose options for each meal you want to attend. Field trip leaders/co-leaders, keynote speaker and awardees, please select your meals from the Field Trip Leader section to waive the fee. You are welcome to purchase an extra meal ticket for someone not attending the conference (just select their meal choice in the attendee meals section).
Presale for 2022 Conference T-shirts and Commemorative Posters: You will have the option to pre-purchase the official 2022 WOS Conference T-shirts and Commemorative posters (11"x14", suitable for framing) as part of registration. Both items showcase the original artwork of Lisa Hill including three birds, Sage Thrasher, Bobolink and Western Tanager (see image above). More details and images listed on the WOS Conference website. *NOTE: Limited quantities are available, so consider pre-purchasing one as part of registration process. All pre-purchased items will be available for pickup at the registration table during the conference.
Adding items: Upon registering, you will receive a confirmation email with the items you ordered. Contact the Registrar to change or delete items. If you want to ADD items after you have registered, then choose the “Return Attendee” option in the Registration type section to avoid a second registration fee. Then select your new items and enter your contact information again. It will warn you that this is a duplicate entry, but it will send you through to pay for the added items with no problem.
Payment: Payment for your registration can be made by check, credit card (on the Paypal site) or you may log in to pay with your PayPal account. For those who prefer to pay by check, the address for the WOS Treasurer will be sent in your registration confirmation email. If you have trouble with payment, please do not register a second time! Instead, contact the Registrar, and she can help process your payment manually.
There are additional options for donating to the WOS General Fund, as well as the Patrick Sullivan Young Birders Fund included with registration.
