This session is appropriate for educators and school staff in any role who would like to learn about Multi-tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) with a focus on literacy. In this session, participants will:
Receive a brief historical overview of MTSS
Review how evidence-based and relationship-focused literacy practices in an MTSS framework can be culturally responsive, holistic and supportive of diversity, equity and inclusion
Explore how assessment guides instruction in an MTSS framework
Consider how MTSS addresses diverse learners in the classroom
Learn about how to use universal screening, progress monitoring, and diagnostic assessments to inform instruction
Understand how students move through tiers of support based on assessment results
Audience: This training is directed toward employees of BC school districts and independent schools. This includes teachers, paraprofessionals, and other educational staff supporting students with ASD at any grade level (K-12) in developing their social, academic, and adaptive skills.

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop will be presented virtually via Zoom
Participants will need a reliable internet connection and a device equipped with a webcam and microphone (laptop / computer are recommended; tablets and mobile phones may be used, but smaller screens may make viewing challenging)
The Zoom link and workshop materials will be e-mailed to participants a few days prior to the workshop
A certificate will be issued to those who attend the full day
