Key topics to be covered include the pressing need for enhanced last-mile delivery capabilities, the imperative integration of advanced technologies and automation in warehousing practices, and strategies to mitigate labor shortages and infrastructure bottlenecks.
 
Furthermore, we will delve into PortCity's strategic initiatives aimed at leveraging these trends, including infrastructure enhancements, technology partnerships, and initiatives to optimize supply chain visibility and efficiency.
 
We’ll aim to equip attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the evolving dynamics within warehousing and trucking, providing valuable insights into PortCity's vision and strategies for sustained growth and competitiveness in the region.
 

Bio:
Meet Wicks Dickson, Director of Business Development at PortCity, a seasoned logistics expert driving market expansion and fortifying PortCity’s footprint through active promotion of their logistics services.

With a robust background in logistics, Wicks brings extensive experience to the table. He has served as the Small Medium Enterprise Account Manager of the Carolina’s at CEVA Logistics in Greenville, SC, where he was instrumental in developing Ocean, Air, Ground, Warehousing, and Customs Brokerage services for the Charlotte, Raleigh, and Richmond stations. During his tenure, Wicks achieved remarkable milestones, including generating $500K in new customer growth in fiscal year 2021 and expanding growth across key stations to $4.3M in fiscal year 2022.

Prior to his role at CEVA Logistics, Wicks held positions at Mainfreight Americas in Charleston, SC, where he served as an Air & Ocean Account Executive and earlier as an International Account Manager at CaroTrans International, a division of Mainfreight Americas. At Mainfreight, Wicks played a pivotal role in developing new air and ocean accounts throughout North and South Carolina, achieving significant business growth and record net revenue for the CLT branch. At CaroTrans International, he focused on maintaining and expanding import and export revenue across multiple states, implementing successful sales campaigns to New Zealand, Australia, China, and India, in order to forge strategic relationships with overseas agents.

Earlier in his career, Wicks gained valuable experience at Mediterranean Shipping Company (USA) Inc. in Charleston, SC, where he served in the Hazardous Department, handling dangerous goods declarations and implementing standard operating procedures for HAZMAT guidance to clients.

Wicks' dedication to excellence extends beyond his professional endeavors. He is a distinguished USCG veteran with commendable service, including roles in Search and Rescue and Maritime Law Enforcement, earning him a Presidential Commendation for Hurricane Katrina efforts. A graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and a minor in Political Science, Wicks is deeply committed to his family and community, exemplified by his role as a devoted husband and father and his leadership as the General Chair of the 50th Annual South Carolina International Trade Conference in 2024. Wicks values PortCity's unified approach and operational efficiency in achieving mutually beneficial goals, making him an invaluable asset to the PortCity team
