Adelaide Aquatic Centre

6 Week Program

2nd March 2024 - 6th April 2024
DETAILS INCLUDE: 
  • Lessons and training are held on Saturday afternoons across 6 weeks.
  • The length of each session is 1.5 hours each week.
  • Participants will need to bring bathers (any attire you are comfortable to wear in the water), a towel and change of clothes for swimming lessons. Goggles are recommended.
  • This program is open to adults over the age of 18, swimming experience IS REQUIRED.
  • This program requires the candidate to be intermediate swimmer with a good degree of physical fitness. Physical and Swimming Assessment tasks include:

This program is supported by the City of Adelaide. The total cost is $20, for the entire duration of the program.

The program will be delivered across six sessions that will each focus on a survival/rescue skill set:
  • Session 1: Water safety and survival skills
  • Session 2: Learn CPR
  • Session 3: Learn First Aid
  • Session 4: Perform basic dry and wet rescues
  • Session 5: Beach Safety Day
  • Session 6: River Safety Day

The first 4 weeks of the program will be delivered at the Adelaide Aquatic Centre and will include classroom sessions, and pool sessions to learn how-to-perform. Weeks 5+6 are to be determined
