Creating Successful Peer Networks at School POPARD Virtual Half-Day Workshop

Are you an educator looking for ways to support your autistic student(s) in how they interact with their peers? Perhaps you have thought about starting a social group or establishing a buddy system to provide more opportunities? Or maybe you are wondering how to increase participation in existing clubs? Or perhaps you are already running a group, but it doesn’t seem to be working quite the way you wanted?
In this interactive, half-day workshop, participants will delve into the how-to of creating successful, lasting peer networks through establishing social groups or buddy systems within the school setting throughout the school day including recess and lunch. By the end of the workshop, participants will have actionable strategies to effectively support peer connections. This workshop is ideal for educators from K-12 looking for ways to increase opportunities for autistic students to connect with peers.
Audience: This workshop is for employees of BC School Districts, BC First Nations Schools and BC Independent Schools.
