Supporting the Transition from Elementary to High School
Virtual 1-hour POPARD Family School Liaison Workshop
January 8, 2026(12:00-1:00pm)
The transition from primary to secondary school is a significant milestone that can bring social, emotional, academic, and organizational challenges—particularly for autistic youth. Changes in environment, expectations, and instructional styles can make high school feel markedly different from elementary school.
This workshop will explore key preparation strategies to support youth ahead of the transition and highlight specific aspects of high school that families can help plan for. Participants will also be introduced to practical tools and resources to support a successful and confident transition.
