AI and the Inclusive Classroom: How AI Can Help You POPARD Virtual Half-Day Workshop

This 3-hour session introduces educators to the practical and ethical use of AI tools to enhance inclusive teaching and learning. Participants will explore recent research on AI’s benefits and limitations in K–12 education and learn how to apply ethical and privacy guardrails aligned with BC’s Ministry of Education guidance. Through guided, hands-on activities, teachers will learn how to navigate key tools in Magic School Teacher, adapt lessons for diverse learners using other AI platforms (e.g. ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot), and write effective prompts that generate high-quality outputs, saving valuable planning time while strengthening inclusion. This session is ideal for teachers, learning support staff, and administrators who want to integrate AI thoughtfully, efficiently, and responsibly into inclusive classrooms. Audience: This workshop is for employees of BC School Districts, BC First Nations Schools and BC Independent Schools.
