Using Technology to Support Evidence-Based Strategies for Students with ASD

Evidence-based strategies have been shown to be effective in teaching various skills and decreasing challenging behaviours for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). In this workshop, participants will learn about using technology to support evidence-based strategies for students with ASD. Strategies supporting behaviour, academics, and social communication, such as video modeling, task analysis, visual schedules, token economies, and more will be discussed! Participants will explore and feel prepared to use iPad apps to make these strategies more motivating for their students/children. This workshop is appropriate for K-12 classroom teachers, learning support teachers, case managers, educational assistants, and parents.

Audience: This workshop is for employees of BC School Districts and Independent Schools.
