The 2019 Celebration of Service & Survival: Mark your calendars for Februrary 15th, 2019 for a night of celebration at The Marriott Downtown! 

At our annual Celebration of Service & Survival, The Center for Women and Families pays tribute to five Women of Distinction who have spent their time and talents advocating for women and girls in Kentuckiana. It’s an elegant and festive evening featuring a cocktail reception, silent & live auctions, dinner, and so much more!

We rely on more than 75 volunteers to make this night a success. See below on how you can help!

Volunteer Registration Information

Below is an overview of the jobs and responsibilities for volunteers for the Celebration of Service and Survival to be held on February 15, 2019 at the Marriott Downtown. Jobs and tasks are listed by category.  At the event, your team captain will walk through all processes, answer questions and smooth out anything that is unclear.  All volunteers will be given a 30 minute break for dinner.  If you are interested in signing up, please click on the CONTINUE button below and pick your assignment!
February 14, 2019 (Day Before Event)
  •  Unload Materials/Supplies for Event-Volunteers will help unload supplies from Center vehicles and take to event areas at the Marriott. 

February 15, 2019 (Day of Event)
  • Setup-Volunteers will help set up the event and silent auction space.
  • Registration –These volunteers will assist in getting attendees checked in and ready for mobile bidding.  Volunteers assisting with registration must attend training, dates to be annouced. Usually, training takes place week of event at the Center for Women and Families**
  • Greeters/Seat Guides-Greeters will be placed at the entrance to the ballroom and in the lobby. Their primary task will be to welcome guests to The Center for Women & Families' Celebration of Service & Survival and help them find registration or their tables.
  • Wine/Spirit Pull-Volunteers will help with processing payment for bottles of wine and bourbon selected by attendees.
  • Silent Auction Monitors/Biding Assistants-Volunteers will monitor the silent auction area and items to make sure nothing gets stolen. Chat with attendees and assist with any mobile bidding questions/issues.  
  • Stand Up for a Survivor/Live Auction Spotters-Spotters will be placed strategically throughout the room to aid the auctioneer in identifying bidders and their locations. (Raise your hand and point so the auctioneer can see who is bidding.)
  • Check-Out-These volunteers will work with the finance team to help with any issues attendees have at check out after the program ends in addition to help guests gather their auction items.
  • Event Breakdown-Volunteers are needed to help breakdown and pack up materials after the event has ended.
