Registration Information
Thank you for registering for the Plattsburgh Beach Wrestling Tournament. With all those returning to compete, this will be the greatest event yet with more divisions & better prizes! Follow and set Alerts for all the info on Instagram and the Facebook Event Page!
Competitors will be grouped together by Age Divisions and Weight Classes. Here are the Age divisions:
Youth 5 - 10 years old
Modified 11 - 14 years old
Varsity 15 - 17 years old
Open 18 - 29 years old
Masters 30 years old and up
You may enter more than 1 division (Age or Weight Class) for an additional fee. You may enter a higher weight class and an older age division. Only Masters may enter a younger division (Open division). There are even Specialty divisions: The Absolute Division and a Gi-top division.
*Don't worry about pre-registering for a certain weight class. We will determine your weight class during the on-site weigh ins. We will utilize the Madison Weight System.
EXAMPLES:
If you want to enter the Youth division and the Modified division, select "2 Age Divisons, 1 Weight Class per division" Quantity 1 below for a total of $35.
If you want to enter 2 weight classes in the Youth division and 2 weight classes in the Modified division, select "2 Age Divisions, 2 Weight Classes per division" Quantity 1 below for a total of $55.
If you would like to enter 2 of your children, select "1 Age Division, 1 Weight Class"Quantity 2 below.
Absolute Division: You can register for the Open-Weight, Single Elimination Absolute Division for an additional $10 . There will be an Absolute Division for the following Age Groups: Youth, Modified and Varsity/Open/Masters.
Gi-top Division: You can register for the Open-Weight, Round Robbin Gi-topDivision for an additional $10. There will be a Gi-top Division for the following Age Groups: Youth, Modified and Varsity&Up.

Saturday, July 20, 8am-9am at The Cabana Bar, 1 Beach Rd
ALL WEIGH INS ARE ON SITE. NO EXCEPTIONS
9-10am Tournament Setup
10:30am Rules meeting & Clinic at The Cabana Bar, 1 Beach Rd.
10:45am Tournament starts. Gi-Top on 2 rings
11:15 Youth, Varsity & Masters on 3 rings
12:30 Mdified & Open on 2 rings
1:30 Absolute Divisions on 2 rings
Rules: We will utilize the UWW Beach Wrestling Rules.
First athlete to score 3 points is declared the winner
One point for a takedown or pushout. 2 points for takedowns with back exposure.
One 3-minute period. No overtime.
Tie-Breaker Criteria 1. Highest value action 2. Last to score
Wrestling surface is approximately 7m in diameter.
*Interpretations of these rules will be discussed at the aforementioned Rules Clinic.
Athletes are responsible for
• Registration information and fees
• Attendance to weigh-ins (Schedule above)
• Uniform; Swim trunks, bathing suit, singlet, rash guard & shorts. No footwear. Family friendly uniforms. Staff discretion if necessary.
• Understanding of the sport and knowledge of rules.
• Professional, respectful, sportsmanlike and competitive behavior.
What else you’ll need - It’s a day at the beach!
“Dry” sun screen, Umbrellas, Seating, Towels
You may be asked to towel off if you are excessively sweaty or greasy with lotion.
