BYRNA PEPPERBALL LAUNCHER CERTIFICATION:
 
 
   THIS COURSE COVERS THE USE AND DEPLOYMENT OF THE BYRNA MISSION 4 HIGH CAPACITY PEPPERBALL LAUNCHER.
STUDENTS WILL BE INSTRUCTED IN THE PROPER MAINTENANCE AND USE OF THE LAUNCHER AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW MARKSMANSHIP ABILITY WITH THE LAUNCHER USING KINETIC PROJECTILES.

BYRNA MAX PROJECTILES

Byrna Max Projectiles are a proprietary pepper and tear gas blend: OC, CS all in one shot, with quick-acting incapacitating effects, higher dispersion, and higher concentration of chemical irritants.
  
Physical Effects:
  • Burning in throat
  • Wheezing
  • Gasping
  • Dry cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Gagging
  • Inability to breathe
  • Nausea
  • Burning of the eyes
  • Burning of the lungs
  • Chest tightness
  • Excessive salivation
Physical symptoms of chemical irritants often result in disorientation and agitation, which can lead to a state of fear, anxiety and panic in would-be attackers. Upon impact the projectiles burst, creating a cloud of chemical irritant that rapidly disperses into the air to quickly incapacitate an attacker. Within seconds, the saturation area extends in all directions around the point of impact.

This course is conducted at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility located at:

PHOENIX, AZ 85086

PARTICIPANTS MUST ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 4:45PM.  AFTER THIS TIME, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE FACILITY AND GET TO THE RANGE.  AN INSTRUCTOR WILL GIVE DIRECTIONS FROM THE MAIN GATE UPON YOUR ARRIVAL.
