Each half-day camp is only $90 for Stages members and $100 for the public.
If students would like to be in Shrek Jr., they must attend all 4 weeks of the summer intensive sessions.
Students must bring a lunch if attending all day.
Students will present a showcase or art project at the end of every camp.
Students may be signed in 15 mins before the class begins and will need to be signed out within 15 mins of ending. Please contact us if you need an earlier drop off. Breakfast club options can be applied for students needing to be signed in from 8 AM and signed out by 5 PM.
A 4-week Musical Theatre Intensive for ages 13-18!
LCT's Stages Academy is offering a 4-week Musical Theatre Intensive this summer. This experience is meant to give our older artists (ages 13-18) a look into what goes into a full-scale musical production. There will be a cap of 20 students for this 4-week camp.
Our curriculum is centered around a full-scale production of a musical. Directed by Jillian Johnstone with Choreography by Edward Funderburke and Joel Palma, with assistance from Summer Johnson. Students will audition, learn choreography, sing, and act in this public production for family, friends, and our community.
Auditions will be the first day of camp July 3rd (for casting only, all registered students will be a part of the production)
be prepared to sing 32 bars of music (or a chorus and verse of your favorite song)
be prepared for cold readings, or bring a prepared monologue.

Students will work on learning how to write an original screenplay from local playwright Whitney Ryan Garrity.
Musical Theatre Voice - 1:00PM-4:00PM
Students will learn different methods of theatre voice. They will get vocal training and work on pieces to perform at the end of the session showcase for family and friends.
Theatre & Film Magic: Special FX Camp – 9:00AM-12:00PM
Students will fuse theatre and applied science to create special effects!
Musical Theatre Dance – 1:00PM-4:00PM
Students will learn different styles of classical dance and choreography. At the end of the week there will be a showcase for parents.
Reel Talk - 9:00AM-12:00PM
Love MOVIES?!? Love Clubs? Come sit with us as we enjoy some of cinemas' finest offerings and have discussions about character development, setting, cinematic elements, and historical context. Definitely for the MOVIE BUFF. Movie list available by request. (12-18 years of age)
Costuming - 1:00PM-4:00PM
Students will learn basic sewing skills and how to put together a costume. They will also work towards designing and making their own creation to take home with them.
Cast Me! Auditions and Monologues – 9:00AM-12:00PM
Learn proper audition techniques, work on monologues, slates and build an audition reel with headshots. Showcase for family and friends at the end of the week!
What is my Line, Improv – 1:00PM-4:00PM
Campers will learn improv techniques through games, writing, and performing. This camp is great to engage in creative thinking and public speaking.
Prop Making – 9:00AM-12:00PM
Students will learn about prop-making techniques and materials to complete prop-building challenges like making cupcakes, swords, magic wands, and jelly glass.
Poetry and Prose – 1:00PM-4:00PM
Students will focus on writing poetry and prose and dramatic interpretation. They can use these skills to help compete in UIL competitions.
2-D Art Camp – 9:00AM-12:00PM
Students will learn drawing basics as well as learn to work with other 2-D mediums, such as watercolor, chalk, and acrylics.
Technical Theatre – 1:00PM-4:00 PM
Students will learn different areas of technical theatre such as lights, sounds, and set design. The techniques they will learn will be applied in helping with the summer intensive of Shrek Jr.
Podcasting – 9:00am-12:00pm
Learn the ins and outs of recording, content creation, editing, and posting your own podcast.
ImpACT News – 1:00PM-4:00PM
Learn interview techniques, social media trends, and public speaking while hosting LCT’s ImpACT News program. Students will learn to plan out segments, interview artists, other students, leaders, and hear from industry professionals.

Filmmaking - Ever wanted to create your own short film? Learn how to Cast, costume, scout locations, and film a short to be shown to family and friends.
