Dear Participant,
We look forward to seeing you on one of the 2024 FONSS tours.  As of 7/31/24 all tours were fully subscribed.  You will receive a reminder e-mail approximately 7 days prior to your tour with driving instructions (it is a 7 mile unimproved road to the parking area), a parking pass for your dashboard, and a copy of your tour waiver.  Please do not bring weapons, dogs, or unregistered guests including babes in arms.  For last minute cancellations, substitutions, or questions, please call 907-717-0117 no later than 5 pm the night before your tour.  Or email fonss2007@gmail.com.

Following is a brief descriptions of the tours which should answer any general questions.

Bus Tour Highlights (8/24/24 and 9/8/24)
Nike Site Summit Bus Tours– Ages 12+.  Starting at the Arctic Valley Ski Area Lower Parking Lot, this bus tour of the Nike Site Summit lasts approximately 2.5 hours.  Conditions permitting, we visit structures on both the Lower and Upper Sites which FONSS and JBER have preserved from when this area was Site Summit Nike Missile Site. 

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time (9:15 for 9:30 tour/12:45 for 1:00 tour).  Parking is included in your tour (please print and display your parking pass).  We recommend that you dress in layers and bring insect repellent.  If you are allergic to insect stings, please bring your Epi-Pen.  You will travel to and between the Sites via bus, but there is some walking over uneven ground.  If you have been exposed recently to Covid-19, even if asymptomatic, please wear a face covering on the bus and whenever the group is congregated.
